Hello! I hope your day is off to an amazing start! It has been snowing here for the past few weeks now and I can’t wait for it to get nice again. This weekend I am heading out of town (fingers crossed) and wanted to share with you what I take on quick weekend trips. I find that the key is to pack light and don’t over think it.
I know traveling can seem stressful at times but that’s why I want to share with you my tips and tricks to making it go smooth! Remember, you only get two carry on (a carry on and a small personal bag) so make it count. Lets get into it!
Weekend Trip Musts
I find that for me, I prefer to take a duffle bag when going on weekend trips. I use the Longchamp Le Pliage 21-Inch Expandable Travel Bag. I love this bag so much I actually have two. They can be a bit expensive but they hold up really well and can be used as both a small or large duffle that fits in the overhead bin. This really helps me when traveling because I always over pack but a duffle bag really limits what you can take. I also added a Herschel bag which is also great for travel and more affordable!
I personally always travel with a blanket scarf especially this time of year. Blanket scarfs are something that can be used as a makeshift blanket, scarf, pillow etc. They usually can squish down a lot in your carry on and can be used for countless things. I always travel with a free people one I have had for the past few years which they don’t make anymore but I added the
Soia & Kyo Cable Knit Scarf and the Rebecca Minkoff Solid Muffler Scarf both from Nordstrom that are similar!
One of my favorite things to do at the airport and on the airplane is to read. This is such a good way to pass time and calm down if you are ever feeling anxious. My one piece of advice is to buy your book before going to the airport, books at the airport can be so expensive and you can typically get a better deal though amazon. If you are a fast reading another great way to read is on a kindle that way you can bring more than one book without struggling to find space! Bellow I linked two books I read recently while traveling and love!
Who doesn’t get hungry when traveling? I know I sure do! It can be so much more expensive to buy food at the airport so I always try to bring snacks. I usually find myself bringing along some kind of granola bar. My two favorites granola bar brands are KIND and Kashi. The other thing I typically bring is a small bag of SkinnyPop.
I always have a pack of the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths in my carry on at all times, I hate how dirty my skin feels while traveling so I always like to be able to give it a little clean. I also always travel with the Rich Moisturizer that I purchase from the Bellevue Acne Clinic. It is amazing how dry our skin get on the airplane and I feel like when I do a quick freshen up my skin doesn’t break out as bad.
