How I Stay Organized!

Hello beautiful people! I know I can’t be the only one who struggle with trying to keep my daily tasks organized, so I wanted to share with you what works for me, that way maybe it can work for you too! I feel like one of the most important things to do is to have a method to understanding your own madness. Some people work best by keeping things in a planner, while others work best keeping things in their phone/computer calendar. For me, I find that using a mix of multiple things helps me the most, that way I don’t miss anything important!

I used to use a giant paper calendar which was above my desk and I loved it because if I needed to check a date that was a month or so out I could! I recently converted to a white board calendar which doesn’t allow me to look into the future at dates, but I decided to get it anyways because I wanted everything in my room to look cleaner. Plus, it was only like $15 at Home Goods so I was like why not? Since converting to the white board lifestyle, I have had to rely heavily on my planner.

My planner is also from Home Goods and I believe was only $7! I am a huge fan of the Clementine planners because they have so much room to write your daily tasks and are so cute! This is now my second planner from them and definitely not my last. Previously I used the Lily Pulitzer planner which I loved as well but I realized that while in college I don’t really need to be spending so much on something that is just going to be temporary. Plus, the Clementine planners  are so much thinner which makes it easier to put in a bag and take with you.

I don’t know if I mentioned this, but I tend to be forgetful. I not only use my planner and white board I also put all my important dates in my phone and computer. I find that for appointments and things it is better for me to use my phone or computer that way I can have a reminder sent to me!

As for organizing my actual planner? I try to color coordinate everything! Since most things in my planner are for school, I just categorize each class as a different color then for appointments and extracurriculars I put those under the same color! At the bottom of each day I add a little workout challenge for myself as well because I find that it can be easy to forget to take care of yourself while maintaining such a busy life. Now… that doesn’t mean I always get it done but it is there to remind me that it is important! If you aren’t in school and are just looking to find some new ways to organize you busy life, you might find it helpful to color coordinate phone calls, appointments and personal time. I think the most important things is to find what works best for you!
