Sometimes we go through life feeling anxious and overwhelmed, keeping a daily journal can help alleviate some of that. I discovered the power of writing down my words when I was in high school. I originally found myself writing for hours and then tearing it out of my notebook, putting it in an envelope and sealing it shut. I realized that when I sealed the envelope shut I was never able to look back and reflect on what I had written. That is when I decided to switch to writing in a journal. Nearly five years later, I still write in a journal almost daily. As someone with anxiety I find that journaling is one of the best ways for me to clear my mind and lift things off of my heart. Your journal doesn’t have to be anything special, for me I just use a cute notebook that I got at Home Goods. As long as you feel safe expressing yourself than journaling can be one of the most powerful things you do.
